Marie Queenan
Coach, Director, Writer
Bio
Marie is a multidisciplinary actor, director, writer, and producer who began acting at the age of 19. It was her 2nd year at the University of Calgary, and while directionless as to what she should study, Marie followed her curiosity in wanting to try and acting course. Her curiosity with acting started 2 years prior while watching a pretty f**ing good high school production of A Midsummer's Nights Dream.
Marie eventually moved to Vancouver and completed 2 diplomas at Vancouver Acting School before seeking an agent, and because that was taking too long, Marie began to self produce theatre and then film - she wanted to act, and she didn't want to wait for anyone.
Marie continued her education at Canada's National Voice Intensive in 2018 & 2019, learning from Canadian theatre legends, including David Smuckler & Judith Koltai. Also notable studying with Carmel Amit & Raïna von Waldenberg and their respective methods with a foundation in Grotowski work. These further grounded Marie's work in classical technique, voice, and embodied performance.
As an actor, Marie has worked across film, television, and theatre, with screen credits including Charmed (CBS), Legends of Tomorrow (The CW), and numerous leads in independent projects, often in leading roles. On stage, she has performed in both classical and contemporary theatre, with her last live performance being her original one woman show DOLL directed by Carmel Amit.
As a writer/director, Marie has created 3 short films and most recently a web series -REJECTION- which is on it's way to festivals for 2026! She also has some feature films which she hopes to film in 2027.

Ethos
Marie believes the actors work lives at the intersection of curiosity, craft, and self-determination. Her foundation in theatre has informed her screen coaching work, having her pull out specificity, presence, and emotional clarity in any performer. With a deep background in both theatre and independent film, Marie approaches storytelling as both an artistic and personal practice—one shaped not just by training, but by choice.
Her creative philosophy centers on agency, curiosity, and sustained engagement with the craft—regardless of external validation. "Artists cannot control booking or timing, they can control how they show up to the work. Stay curious in everything, and magic will always be found."
Acting will bring up every emotion we have within us, it will scare and challenge us just as much as it will bring us belly laughs and life long memories. Marie strives to balance between nurturing and challenging, believing actors want to grow and can do so in a safe environment.
